Depuis le 26 janvier 2009 on vie dans l'année de Buffle selon le calendrier chinois. Nous pouvons apprendre de ce savoir, car 1 milliard personnes ne peuvent pas se tromper...
Selon les spécialistes de Feng Shui Purdew & Associes l'année du buffle 2009 est féminin, associé avec l'hémisphère droit du cerveau: intuition, création, guérison, retour vers la terre, stabiliser les fondation et réorganiser. Faites le vide, recyclez, débarrassez-vous du superflu .
L'élément est la Terre, les organes associés avec la Terre sont l'estomac et la rate, responsable de la digestion et la création de Qi depuis nos aliments selon la Médecine Traditionnelle Chinoise.
Mon conseil: manger équilibré, de préférence chaud et sans stress, réduire les laitages et boire l'eau chaude avec des plats froids.

Chinese New Year in Paris

Since January 26 2009 we live in the year of the Ox as the Chinese calendar says. We suggest to get something from that wisdom because 1 billion people can't be wrong!
The Feng Shui specialist from Purdew & Associes learn us that the year of the Ox is feminine and associated with the right brain hemisphere: intuition, creation, healing, return to the earth , stabilise the foundations and reorganise. Clean out, recycle or sell off surplus.
Earth is the dominating element, stomach and spleen are the Earth organs, in charge of our digestion and transform our food into Qi, according to Chinese Traditional Medicine.
My advice: eat balanced, preferably warm and without stress or worries, reduce dairy and drink warm water with cold meals.

8 June National Qi Gong Day

Since it's not so common to see this in Paris' streets we'll have to do with one day a year. Sunday 8 June is the 14th national Qi Gong Day. In major cities in France there will be demonstrations, workshops and conferences to inform and show what Qi Gong is all about and you can experience for yourself the good it can do for your mind, body and spirit.
In Paris it's from 10am-6pm at la Grande Pagode du Bois de Vincennes, 40 route circulaire du lac Daumesnil, 12e. Metro : Porte dorée. Price for the whole day: 8 €, reduced price: 5 €, free for licensees of the Féderation de Qi Gong et Art Energétique and kids under 12 years.

Paris by Museum Night

Over 950 museums in France alone and about the same number in other European countries open their doors on Saturday night 17 May from 7pm till 1am.
It's the 4th edition of this French initiative. Last year they had over 1.3 million visitors, this year it might get even more, since the French put a lot of effort in this European project to mark their upcoming presidency over the European Union.

La Nuit des musées

Samedi 17 mai en France et en Europe aura lieu la quatrième édition de l'événement culturelle "La Nuit des Musées".
De 19h jusqu'au 1h du matin plus qu'un million de visiteurs sont attendus dans environs 950 musées en France et autant dans le reste de l'Europe.

Cette manifestation sympathique et gratuit a été crée en 2005 par les français, le ministère de la Culture et de la Communication.
L'occasion d'éteindre la télé et consommer sans modération la culture que nos musées offrent !

Paris Spring Street festival

During the weekend of 17 and 18 May, around the Canal Saint Martin, Paris 10e, the streets will be the stage for the 11th street-art festival. 2 Days packed with dance, theatre, circus and colourful shows like the "Bollywood show", as the name indicated inspired from Bollywood. (Saturday 17 May at 8pm le Grand Parquet). There are also interesting workshops, for free so no excuse not to learn something new that weekend!

Printemps des Rues Paris 10e

Le 17 et 18 mai se deroulera la 11ième édition de festival des arts de la rue, dans le 10e arr. Autour du canal Saint Martin vous pouvez admirer des créations artistiques des compagnies des arts de la rue, danseurs et acteurs. Tango, théâtre, cirque, ateliers et spectacle comme le "Bollywood show" inspiré de Bollywood samedi 17 mai au Grand Parquet de 20h à 22h

2CV expo show

To celebrate the 60 years of the Citroën 2CV , La Cité des Sciences has made this fabulous expo-show. Where you can see the history of the car, in all it's splendor.
show opened April 15 and can be admired until November 30, 2008.
On the website you can customise and send funny E-cards. But the English version doesn't seem to work...
On May 25 there's a gathering of 2CVs outside in the Parc de la Vilette from 11 am on2C. At 3pm the association Bombeiro takes up the challenge to take a 2CV apart, passes the pieces through a hole in a wall and on the other side they will build it together again and drive with it, within 1 hour time ...
Great design in all its simplicity!
For this outside event the entrance is free.

Rock icon Patti Smith expo at Fondation Cartier

Land 250 - called after her first Polaroid camera- shows visual work from this multi-talented artist-performer from the period 1967 to 2007. Her son Jackson plays his guitar and even gives workshops. Find out what and when at the Fondation Cartier. See also their Nomadic nights program with music and poetry.

Appel de la Nature

Même si il ne fait pas beau encore, les oiseaux et la nature vous appellent: Il est temps de sortir les pots de fleurs sur vos balcons, de planter les graines, de mettre les mains dans la terre, si vous voulez profiter d'un peu de fraîcheur cet été.

Il y a au moins 7 raison de s'y mettre selon: www.jardinpotager.com
Il parait que ce n'est vraiment pas difficile de cultiver des plantes aromatiques ou semer quelques grains de radis ou tomates. Si vous préférez les fleurs optez pour les tournesols à partir des graines. Encore trop compliqué ? Au marché aux fleurs vous trouvez des plantes pour tout les tailles de balcons.
Les cache-pots, meubles et autres décorations pour dehors on trouve pour des prix raisonable chez Pier Import.
Et si vous n'avez pas de balcon et pas de doigts verts, il y a la solution d'un jardin à l'intérieur avec ce machin.

Autre solution rapide: passer la nuit dans l'hôtel Le Quartier Bastille et Le Quartier Bercy Square pour se détendre entouré des plantes dans le patio.

This is a great site and great service in 4 languages.... the official or not so officials involved in tourism can take an example from them.
You can meet them there to get tourist information and they even organise tours or an Individual welcoming service :

You will be welcomed by a member of the association in the Blue Book Paris Bookshop.
